OUR STORY

Written by J. Scott Worthington, ALONE was originally published as part of a collection of sci-fi stories on Amazon. Immediately after reading, Director William Hellmuth knew he needed to bring J.’s story to life, and beginning in the winter of 2018, William and J. embarked on the long process of turning it into a film.

Over a year later, with a little luck, a lot of favors, and the additions of Producer Julianna Ulrich and co-Executive Producer John Parenteau to the team, the right cast and crew fell into place, and together they built the world William and J. always envisioned.

From conception through post production, ALONE has been a labor of extreme love for all involved, and the result — a timely film about loneliness — is something we’re all proud to call our own.

SYNOPSIS

Kaya Torres, an engineer with a sailor’s mouth and a stubborn spirit, barely escapes her research ship when calamity breaks it in half.

Now she’s circling a black hole in a pod, with no one coming, no one to help.

She’s alone.

While figuring out what to do, Kaya starts sending messages to Hammer, a cartographer marooned on a nearby planet. And as their friendship grows, Kaya’s options slowly dwindle, until survival seems hopelessly out of reach…
